A stand of small maples makes way for an apple orchard on the farm. We are all taking steps, hopefully more forward than backward. This original, limited edition inverse tree ring print is from a slice of one of those maples. Prints pulled: 5.

In its original form, the tree slice was rough cut with a chainsaw. The tree slice was then planed to level it, and sanded smooth. It was then burned with a blowtorch to create textural differences among the tree rings, cleaned with a wire brush, and inked.
