Large Rustic Wooden Planter Box:
*18" tall by 16" long by 16" wide
*your choice of reclaimed wood, oak, cedar, or pressure treated pine
*your choice of unfinished, finished with linseed oil (natural, warm, matte) or finished with spar varnish (manufactured, warm, satin)
*includes drainage gaps at the bottom
Handcrafted on our New England farm from reclaimed wood or locally sourced lumber, these large planter boxes are perfect for shrubs, small trees, large plants, groupings of plants, and more! On the farm we've grown everything from rhubarb and potatoes to apple, cherry, hazelnut, and nectarine trees in these planters!
You can choose to have the planter box come to you without a finish, or finished with a coat of linseed oil for a matte, warmer, more polished look, or finished with a coat of spar varnish for a warm, satiny, glossier look. All finish options protect the wood and include a light sanding to facilitate penetration of the oil or adhesion of the varnish. If left without a finish, reclaimed wood and oak will weather to a natural grey, though cedar and pressure-treated pine tend to hold their color better over time. Unfinished planter boxes will have a very light sanding to smooth out splinters and remove any accumulated dirt from the wood.
Images are representative samples of what you will receive. Each planter box is made to order - reclaimed wood planters will be unique and made from available reclaimed wood supply. Planters made from oak, cedar, or pressure treated pine will look more standardized. All planter boxes include trim at the top (some pictures show an older version without the trim).
Custom sizing is available (pricing may vary); please contact us with your specifications. Please note that custom sizing with any dimension approximately 30" or greater incurs **significant** oversize charges from the shipping carriers; local delivery (to parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire) is available at an hourly rate.
