A towering and ancient oak, over 75 years old, came down along the Chesapeake Bay. This original, limited edition tree ring print is from a slice of that ancient tree.
*19" x 24" unframed; 18" x 24" framed in black; 8" x 8" center detail framed in white shadowbox
*ink block relief
*printed in deep black on a stunning white background
*Supergraphic black professional relief ink
*bright white heavyweight 96 lb paper
*available unframed (shipped in a heavy duty cardboard tube) or framed in black (simple black wood frame with plexiglass to withstand shipping; shipped flat a in a box) or framed in white (8" x 8" center detail only - see image 5 - simple white wooden shadowbox frame with real glass)
In its original form, the tree slice was rough cut with a chainsaw. The tree slice was then planed to level it, then sanded smooth. It was then burned with a blowtorch to create textural differences among the tree rings, cleaned with a wire brush, and inked.
The Lion & The Bear Nanofarm is based in New England, but with strong roots to the Chesapeake Bay.
