System Disks for Early Macs - Macintosh Operating Systems 0.85-4.3

🍎➕🍏 Essential system software for your nostalgic early compact Macintosh. Offering Pre-release 0.85 through System 4.3. The software is on 3.5" floppy disks (either new stock or new old stock). We TEST RUN the system software on an actual early Macintosh from 1984 (no emulators) so the disks are GUARANTEED. As long as you are running a compatible early Macintosh, these disks are guaranteed to work, or we will either replace or refund!

*If you are just looking for an easy one-disk solution to boot up your early compact Mac, my recommended versions are marked in the drop-down box with an asterisk*

Compatibility Notes:
- Pre-release versions will only work on a Macintosh 128K
- Macintosh 128K can run the pre-release versions through System 3.0 (all using 400k disks)
- Macintosh 512K with a 400k floppy drive can run System 1.0 through System 3.0, the System 3 HD 20 Startup if it has a hard disk, and the PATCHED versions of Systems 4.2 or 4.3 (all using 400k disks). The patched versions of Systems 4.2 and 4.3 eliminate some features in order to fit the OS onto a 400k disk.
- Macintosh 512K with an 800k floppy drive can run System 1.0 through System 4.1, the System 3 HD 20 Startup if it has a hard disk, and the PATCHED versions of Systems 4.2 or 4.3 (using either 400k or 800k disks). The patched versions of Systems 4.2 and 4.3 eliminate some features in order to fit the OS onto a 400k disk.
- Macintosh 512Ke can run System 3.0 and higher (using either 400k or 800k disks)
- Macintosh Plus can run System 3.0 and higher (using either 400k or 800k disks)
- Macintosh SE can run System 4.0 and higher (using either 400k or 800k disks)
- Compatibility with other Macs or outside the ranges listed above may be possible but is NOT guaranteed

*3.5" floppy disks do not qualify for First Class Mail because they are rigid. As such, disks are typically shipped with USPS Ground Advantage. The shipping cost you pay covers USPS Ground Advantage shipping, the cost of a floppy disk mailer and other packing materials, and card processing fees on your shipping cost.

*The magnetic floppy disk is not a particularly hardy file storage medium. When the disks leave here, they work, but it is not uncommon for problems to occur during shipping. Please reach out if this happens, and we will make it right!
